Our winemaker, Ryan Scott, has been busy releasing new wines this spring. There's a little something for everyone! See below for tasting notes on our 2020 Pinot Grigio, 2019 Malbec and our newest rosé, Lake Hope Rosé. We've also included additional winemaker notes from Ryan. Cheers!
PINOT GRIGIO
Tasting Notes
Our Pinot Grigio is a crisp refreshing wine, harvested in 2020 from the Pacific Northwest coast. Offering flavors of pear and melon. Pairs well with seafood and pastas with white sauce.
Winemaker Notes
Pinot Grigio is such an amazing grape! It loves to mutate into new and interesting clones, this is the case for the lighter skinned Pinot Grigio used to make this wine.
MALBEC
Tasting Notes
This Malbec features aromas of cocoa powder, leather, and pomegranate leading the way to flavors of black pepper, green coffee beans, raspberry, black cherry, and a raisin finish.
Winemaker Notes
Malbec is a temperamental grape whose thin skins leave it prone to extreme damage. This combined with its preference for high altitudes and barren soils has led us to source our Malbec from an exceptional vineyard in Washington. We are very pleased with the fruit!
LAKE HOPE ROSÉ
Tasting Notes
A unique blend of grapes all grown from vineyards throughout Ohio. Lake Hope Rosé offers aromas of rose petals with flavors of ripe berries and ruby grapefruit.
Winemaker Notes
We really enjoyed working on this rosé. It is a blend of some of our special small batches of white grapes with a touch of color brought in from a dash of the red grape, Regent.
