These DIY chalkboard wine glasses are a great holiday gifting idea, or the perfect accessory at your holiday party and will help party guests keep track of their drinks!
Materials Needed:
Wine Glasses
Chalkboard Paint
Container for the Paint
Chalk (or chalk pen)
Rubbing alcohol
Paper Towels (or a cloth)
Wax paper
Foam paint brush (optional)
Instructions:
Lay wax paper (or other table covering) to protect your work surface from any spills or drips.
Remove any stickers or labels from the bottom of the wine glasses.
Clean the area that will be covered in paint with rubbing alcohol. You can use paper towels or a clean cloth dipped in rubbing alcohol.
Pour chalkboard paint into a container large and deep enough to cover the bottom of the wine glasses.
Dip the base of the wine glass into the paint.
Lift glass out of paint and hold over container to allow paint to drip off and back into the container.
If your paint is thick you may want to use a foam paint brush to gently brush off any access paint from the base before allowing to dry.
Set glass on a protected surface (wax paper works great!)
Allow paint to dry overnight.
Be sure to read the directions on your paint to see if additional steps are needed to cure the paint. Processes can vary by brand.
Using chalk, write on the dry, painted surface of each glass!
