The summer brought two new releases to the tasting room. See below for tasting and winemaker notes on our two new releases, Honeysuckle and Marquette. Cheers!
HONEYSUCKLE
Tasting Notes
A distinct blend of Elvira, Edelweiss, La Crescent and Riesling grapes featuring aromas and flavors of Golden Delicious Apple, Pear, Nectarines, and Honeysuckle.
Winemaker Notes
This wine is one of our most elaborate blends. We blended six different grape varieties from four vineyards to make this wine. We are very pleased with the results, in fact what we at first planned to be an one off wine is now going to be a reoccurring offering.
MARQUETTE
Tasting Notes
Locally grown from an Ohio vineyard and harvested in the fall of 2020, our Marquette displays bright cherry, cinnamon, spearmint, celery leaf, and finishes with a slight earthiness.
Winemaker Notes
Marquette was introduced to the wine world in 2006, it is a cross of multiple species of grapevines, most notably the grandson of Pinot Noir. It is able to retain some of the cherry and earthy characters of Pinot while standing up to the cold of the Midwest. We’re excited to offer this dry Marquette.
